“Keep Praying for Us” | Haiti Update

“[Right now] things are tough here in Haiti,” our teammate writes, “but it’s still our joy to educate our children here at Lifesong Christian School.”

So while Haiti continues facing multiple crises—including political instability, civil unrest, food insecurity, and ongoing natural disasters—our team and students cling tightly to the hope and promises of God.

Our team in Haiti writes—

It’s a blessing to see how hard the students are working.

They’re truly doing their best to earn good grades, regardless of everything else going on. And it’s our privilege to honor those who have worked so hard this school year.

The students continue walking long distances to go to church, school, and work. They continue to be eager to learn and listen to the Bible.

They continue moving forward, by the grace of God.

And God continues to provide.

Last year, as you may remember, we celebrated our first graduating class. What an absolute joy it was to honor 26 graduates as they crossed the stage to become the first-ever graduating class from Lifesong Christian School in Bercy, Haiti.

The ceremony was a beautiful picture of God’s promises and blessings, made possible because of people like you.

Today, 18 of those students have earned scholarships to continue their education in the following fields:

Recently, local education officials met with these students to encourage them and congratulate them on their hard work. We all recognize that what they’ve done is a big accomplishment, especially during a challenging time.

We praise God for giving every child talents and blessings to lead the next generation. We believe these students are on their way to becoming strong leaders in their workplaces, homes, and communities.

Our staff and students look forward to the future.

For now, the children continue doing their best, working hard in their education.

Today, they are excited to be using their new science lab to do experiments, watching the reactions of various chemical compounds, and cheering on their hypotheses.

God truly is doing amazing things for the students in Haiti.

Keep praying for us.

Even in the midst of challenges and setbacks, our team in Haiti is reaching many orphaned and vulnerable children with holistic care, education, and—most importantly—the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And He’s used your prayers and gifts to make it happen.

So, during this time of ongoing uncertainty, we trust that God is still and always at work for good. And we believe He has “plans for welfare and not for evil, to give [these students] a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV).

Thank you for praying with us for the students and staff in Haiti.
