“I always believed God would make a way for Adeline”

God uses His Church to care for orphaned and vulnerable children, a powerful force against the evils of this world. Our team is blessed to provide children in Haiti with Gospel-centered, holistic care, quality education, and discipleship by God’s grace. Every day, the Church works to help orphans know they are seen, known, and loved.

Over the past several weeks, the children we serve continue to grow and thrive, despite ongoing unrest in Haiti. We are pleased to share Adeline’s story. Thank you for joining in caring for kids in Haiti.

Adeline* lost her mother to cancer in 2017.

She never knew her father, so when her mother passed away, she was left all alone.

Before her mother died, she told Adeline she would find a facility to take care of her. But none of the centers were able to accept her.

Then, a woman named Marie began to care for Adeline, as though she were her own daughter. Moved by Marie’s love and care for Adeline, Marie’s church decided to help care for her too. In 2019, Marie paid for Adeline to attend a school designed to help children with learning disabilities. But as Adeline grew, she started to display behavioral issues and struggled in school.

That’s when Marie reached out to our team,

and they enthusiastically agreed to help chart a better path for Adeline.

At Lifesong, we stand by a 4-part pledge to the children we serve. The third part of the pledge affirms our commitment to providing quality education to orphaned and vulnerable children to provide a foundation for their future.

“Our Children” Will:

Be taught the Gospel and how to live as a follower of Jesus Christ

Not want for food, clothing, medical care, or shelter

Receive a quality education to provide a foundation for their future

Experience continued love and support while transitioning into adult living

Now that Adeline has been part of the Lifesong family for over two years,

her life is filled with things and people that bring her joy. She is doing well in school, is nearly always singing, and enjoys participating in church activities. In Adeline’s words—

“I love my new family and friends so much.”

Marie is also pleased with how Adeline has grown. With tears in her eyes, she shared that she always knew God would make a way for Adeline.

Adeline dreams of becoming a doctor. She wants to help people diagnosed with cancer, like her mother. Navigating life in Haiti with a disability has its challenges, but Adeline’s dreams help motivate her to keep going. She shares—

“I believe in God for many reasons that I will never have enough words to explain!”

And with God, all things are possible.
