Mubiru Believes All Things Are Possible with God

When Mubiru* lost his father,

his whole world changed. Just 8 years old, he struggled with discouragement, not knowing what was going to happen next.

During this time, Mubiru lost all motivation to study and go to school. He thought his education would soon come to an end since he no longer had a father to provide for him.

In Mubiru’s words—“I saw that everything was a mess.”

But then, our team in Uganda met Mubiru and invited him into the Lifesong family.

They provided Gospel-centered, holistic care, a loving support system, and made it possible for him to continue attending school for free. Mubiru shares—

“The quality education I received has changed my life. I have learned new skills. And I am empowered to be a good student leader and the sports prefect.”

At Lifesong, we stand by a 4-part pledge to the children we serve. The third part of the pledge affirms our commitment to providing quality education to orphaned and vulnerable children to provide a foundation for their future.

“Our Children” Will:

Be taught the Gospel and how to live as a follower of Jesus Christ

Not want for food, clothing, medical care, or shelter

Receive a quality education to provide a foundation for their future

Experience continued love and support while transitioning into adult living

In addition to being a leader at school,

Mubiru assists with physical education and team sports. A talented soccer player himself, many of his peers and the younger children look up to him.

He also sets an example as a faithful follower of Christ, learning more about Jesus during morning devotions and Bible studies.

Mubiru coaches a soccer team at our school in Uganda.

Mubiru encourages his team—

“Champions believe in themselves, even if no one else does, because with God, all things are possible.”

Mubiru thanks God that he has been blessed with the ability to attend school. May God continue to use him to inspire others to learn and grow in their faith too.
