Planting Seeds in Aneth and Brighton’s Lives | An Update in Tanzania
Aneth and Brighton experienced the life-changing effects of discipleship in Tanzania. After years of wondering how the Gospel applied to their lives, they decided to make their walk with Jesus their own.
Aneth’s Story
When Aneth came to our team in Tanzania, she was initially disinterested in her faith. Going to church was a chore for her, and she doubted the Gospel could apply to her.
However, something remarkable happened when she received Christ. A newfound sense of peace enveloped her, and a desire to grow spiritually was ignited.
Amazingly, Aneth’s spiritual metamorphosis was not limited to herself. She became a leader in the community, helping other orphaned and vulnerable children by taking prayer requests during times of fellowship.
Eventually, Aneth decided to be baptized.
Tabitha, a ministry leader in Tanzania shares—
“Aneth’s journey is inspiring, one of spiritual awakening, personal growth, and active participation in the Christian community.”
At Lifesong, we stand by a four-part pledge to the children we serve. The first part of the pledge affirms our commitment to teach orphaned and vulnerable children the Gospel and how to live as a follower of Jesus Christ. For Aneth and Brighton, this meant having opportunities to participate in prayer sessions, Bible studies, church events, and mentorship to help guide them as they grow.
Brighton’s Story
Though Brighton had a Christian upbringing, he hadn’t discovered God’s plan for his life.
Then, when he came to Lifesong, he began to witness the joy and fulfillment other children were experiencing because of their faith.
Through the support of mentors, Brighton discovered a growing interest in serving the Lord. His mentors helped him to understand that God cared for him, not just his friends. Brighton’s faith began to flourish in the midst of his supportive community. Tabitha shared—
“Together, with mentors, volunteers, and community members, we strive to create an atmosphere that encourages individuals to connect with their faith and experience the transformative power of a relationship with Jesus.”
As orphaned and vulnerable children in Tanzania receive not just physical care, but opportunities for spiritual development too, they are beginning to see God’s purpose for their lives, and it brings them great joy.
