Helping Children Continue Their Education in Uganda
Lifesong is blessed to partner with many amazing organizations doing incredible things for orphaned and vulnerable children around the world, including Global Hands of Hope serving children in Uganda.
Global Hands of Hope partners with community leaders to increase resources in the areas of education, health care, the local church, agriculture, and industry to promote children’s well-being. And on top of all of this, they’re launching an exciting new project!
Here’s an update from the GHOH team.
It’s difficult for impoverished families in Bukeka, Uganda to find quality education.
And finding Christian education in this overwhelmingly Muslim community is next to impossible. But since 2007, Global Hands of Hope has brought this to hundreds of students at Suubi Christian School in Bukeka, along with two daily meals, medical care, and Gospel-centered discipleship for students from Pre-K to 8th grade.
And yet, once our students complete 8th grade, they must find a new school. Some may continue learning in a local high school, while others may not have the opportunity to continue their education at all. Neither of these options builds on the Gospel foundation laid at Suubi Christian School.
With your help, we can provide quality, Christian education to our students through high school and beyond! By purchasing 10 acres of land for a high school and 10 acres of land for a vocational program, our students will have the opportunity to complete their Gospel-centered education. The buildings constructed would accommodate space for learning, worship, staff housing, and boarding for vulnerable students.
By the grace of God—and with your help—we have the opportunity to provide students the tools they need to transition into adulthood with confidence in the Lord and practical skills for a more promising future.
Help students like Jacinta continue their education!
Jacinta is a happy 13-year-old and an excellent 8th-grade student at Suubi Christian School.
She is sweet and intuitive and wants to be a midwife. She shows great promise, but her mother often worries about how her education will be provided for in the future. Jacinta’s father died when she was two years old, leaving behind his four children and wife.
Praise God, through her classes at Suubi Christian School, Jacinta knows that Jesus loves her.
By supporting the construction of a high school and vocational program, you can ensure that Jacinta—and hundreds of students like her—continue receiving quality, Christian education beyond 8th grade to achieve their goals and reach their community for Christ.
With each passing school year, 8th-grade students graduate from Suubi Christian School with little to no options to continue receiving Christian education.
With your help, we can provide quality, Christian education to our students through high school and beyond by constructing a high school and vocational program!
In order to reach this goal, we’re launching a 3-year campaign!
By the end of 2021, Suubi Christian School needs $250,000 to purchase the land, build a cafeteria, and expand the ministry’s leadership. Over the next 2 years, our goal is to build the high school, vocational program, and additional staff housing.
All gifts given toward this campaign will be MATCHED up to $650,000, doubling your impact!
Will you consider giving to build on the Gospel foundation laid at Suubi Christian School?
