Good News in Tanzania Today!

Thank you for loving our kids in Tanzania through child sponsorships, giving, and praying.  In uncertain times, you can be certain that your prayers and support are making a difference. Here’s an encouraging update from our team—

Today is an exciting day!

After three months of closure due to the novel coronavirus, primary and secondary schools in Tanzania will reopen today! But even while we celebrate this good news, we want to reflect on what God has done for our students and staff during this time.

During the global pandemic, our teachers and students continued learning and growing despite school closures. Our teachers prepared packets for students to work on and offered feedback to them as they completed their work.

Our primary and secondary schools strive to promote an educational culture of grace. We structure the curriculum so that the message and hope of Christ is woven into each subject, while also preparing children to excel in the national exams and prepare them to impact the world for Christ. This has continued even during the stay-at-home orders..

Instead of the usual time spent in the classroom engaged in structured study, our students used this time to study God’s Word in a deeper way, opening their eyes to His provision and personal care for them.

In addition to learning and growing academically, our students witnessed God working in tangible ways such as having food each day and protection of their health. God also supernaturally provided for the financial needs of all teachers and staff at our school during this interim period.

For our students, the freedom from many of their daily obligations has resulted in the gift of time to reflect on God’s Word and how He personally speaks to each of His children.

Additional unstructured time was spent watering gardens, washing clothes, playing soccer, and enjoying other games.

As the students eagerly return to school today, we pause and praise God for His constant provision, strength, and protection of our workers and students during this time of global instability.

God is faithful.
