7 of God’s Promises to Pray Over the Fatherless

Prayer is foundational to the work of caring for orphans and vulnerable children.

But even with the deep impact prayer has on our lives and the world around us, we sometimes find ourselves at a loss for words. Our prayer lives can feel monotonous as we pray the same things over and over again. So how can we pray God’s promises for the fatherless when we don’t know what to pray?

When our words fail, Scripture speaks. Praying Scripture is a helpful exercise that allows God’s Word to lead your conversation with Him, as well as reaffirm His promises to His children.

7 Verses to Pray Over the Fatherless–

Psalm 9:9

Hosea 14:3
“In you the orphan finds mercy.”

Deuteronomy 10:18
“He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing.”
