Six Young Mothers Choose Baptism in Zambia

We are so thankful that six young mothers at Kharis House decided to make their commitment to Jesus public, for all to know (pictured above)! On the day of their baptisms, we watched as their children also witnessed their mothers making this profound declaration.
Praise God that he is moving in the hearts of the orphaned and vulnerable girls we serve. Your support makes a way for them to learn about and accept the grace-filled love of Jesus, the same grace that has been transforming lives for centuries.
—Zambia Team
Hannah* arrived at our ministry site in Zambia as a pregnant teenager,
carrying the weight of overwhelming circumstances. Her father died when she was young, and her mother and grandmother were in poor health, unable to care for her and her siblings. When she came to our team, not only was she in need of physical help, but she was in desperate need of hope.
But when Hannah arrived, a glimmer of light returned to her life. The safety, love, and community she experienced day after day began to mend her fearful view of the world. As she engaged in life-giving programs and received Gospel-centered, holistic care, something deeper began to stir in her heart.
Over the past month, 6 of the 12 young mothers our team serves in Zambia chose to be baptized.
Hannah is one of them.
Though Hannah had grown up attending church, she never fully embraced a personal relationship with Jesus. But that began to change during a discipleship class, led by our team. Hannah explored the concept of eternal life and learned about the character of God—a Father so unlike the broken examples she and her peers had known.
It was in that moment, with tender conviction and clarity, that Hannah made a life-altering decision: she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
As Hannah learned more about baptism—an outward expression of an inward transformation—her heart became receptive.
The joy that followed was indescribable.
Our team shares—
“Seeing Hannah step into the waters of baptism, fully aware of the significance of her choice, is a testament to the redeeming power of Christ.”
Today, Hannah remains active in our team’s discipleship classes, continuing to grow in faith and purpose. To God be the glory.
