All in His Perfect Time

Taylor and Erin had been married for nearly five years when they first began their adoption journey.

From the beginning of their marriage, they had a passion for children. After several years of waiting, hoping, and praying for a child, it became clear that their journey would not be straightforward. They sought help from a fertility specialist, but that path was also marked with difficulties, setbacks, and continued disappointments. After treatments, procedures, and waiting, it became clear that it wasn’t in the Lord’s will.

At the beginning of 2018, Taylor and Erin announced that they decided to pursue adoption–a decision made through much thought, preparation, and prayer. However, the most difficult parts of the process came with mounds of paperwork, a multi-week trip to India, and–inevitably–adoption funding.

As they spent time chipping away at the paperwork and preparations, they turned to Lifesong for fundraising support.

In their words–

“We first heard of Lifesong at a conference at our adoption agency in Birmingham during the summer of 2018. Lifesong impressed us with all that they do to help families in the process of adoption, and we thought that we may as well try and see what they could do for us! We are so thankful for all of the resources that Lifesong provides.

“We were so humbled and grateful to receive a matching grant of up to $3,000 towards our adoption expenses to bring our baby girl home from India! By God’s providing grace, we were able to raise over that $3,000 amount. We ended up raising over $7,000! Just what we needed to help us on the last leg of our journey with our travel expenses. We are forever grateful for the part Lifesong has played in bringing our daughter to her Forever Home.

“God’s timing and provision were miraculous in our adoption journey to our daughter. He provided for our financial needs way above what we thought possible. We also saw an amazing and undeserved speed in our timeline, something that was very unexpected for India at this time. All we can think is that it all shows how God works to bring orphans into families and, even more importantly, into His family. All in His perfect time.”

An Unexpected Blessing

Today, their daughter is home. And God recently blessed their family in an unexpected way–the arrival of a biological daughter!

As they continue to navigate the journey of adoption and parenthood, the words from Psalm 23 bring comfort each day–

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
