Trusting God’s Perfect Timing in Your Adoption

The path of adoption is often filled with mountains to cross.

Thankfully, when you know the Mountain-Mover, you don’t have to walk alone. God is in the business of placing children into families. Even better, He rarely works alone, bringing his people alongside through prayer, financial and emotional support.

We are so thankful to play a supporting role that helps connect givers with adopting families. Because of this role, we get to hear stories of how God is at work. It is one of our favorite things! These stories are made possible because people like you respond to God’s call, and they are simply too good not to share.

The Nails Family

Justin and Stacie began talking about adoption early on in their marriage. Stacie’s sister had adopted from Guatemala and she had walked that road with her, feeling the call on her own heart. Soon, a little girl named Allie was adopted into the family.

Several years later they began to feel the pull toward adoption once again and began praying for direction. Without knowing when or how they trusted God would make His plans known to them in time.

As the wait continued, they researched countries where adoption might be possible. Over time, they began to experience doors open and roadblocks torn down as God answered prayer and made it clear they were to adopt from China.

Then, unexpectedly, Justin’s company shut down and he found himself without a job. Even in the midst of financial uncertainty, Justin and Stacie trusted that God would see them through. Over the next three months, God’s provision was evident again and again. Ultimately using their church family to encourage them with exactly what they needed to continue their adoption. Says Justin:

“Our family has been able to see the Lord at work throughout the adoption process. They [our kids] have seen Him answer prayers and move mountains. It has been an amazing faith builder for them. We have had to completely rely on the sovereignty of God throughout this journey. We are blessed that the Lord chose us for this calling.”
