From a Church Fund to China

In February 2017, we were matched with a precious little 3-year-old boy in Harbin, China.

We were full of nerves and excitement until the moment we could finally meet him. As he walked into the conference room where we waited, all of our fears and nerves were replaced with overwhelming love and joy. He bonded to us quickly. We enjoyed our time in China, and although it was not without many stressful moments, we look back on it as one of the most amazing experiences of our lives.

Our son is wonderful in every way. He is funny, smart, kind, and brings so much joy to our lives. The first few months were challenging as we got to know one another and as he learned the language. Now we can’t imagine life without him in it. He has changed our lives in the most amazing way. Our adoption journey is truly the most exciting and miraculous thing we have experienced, and we give all glory and praise to God for how He has blessed us! We look at our son every night as he sleeps and marvel at the gift we have been given.

We appreciate that Lifesong works with churches through church adoption funds to offer matching grants. It’s especially great that our church does not have to manage this. The financial burden of adoption is huge, and the assistance is an incredible gift that we were so grateful to receive.

As first-time adoptive parents, there were so many unknowns in the process. Before our trip to China, there were many fears swirling in our minds. We prayed over them continually and knew that God would be with us, but still had no idea what we were getting into. God was so faithful to us! Every single fear and prayer was answered, and then some! Nothing that we worried about came to be, and the whole experience was more amazing than we could have ever dreamed.

Thank you for obeying God’s leading and now sharing your story! Adoption truly is a journey of trust and obedience. We are excited to see how God continues to use your family and your son for His glory!

Every child needs a family.
