It’s Time to Celebrate!
Outside the Walls has met a new milestone!
As many as 153 million orphans world-wide are trapped in a cycle of hopelessness. Adoptive families all over the world wish to bring fatherless children into their family, however, finances often pose great obstacles or even cause good families to walk away from pursuing children in need. Unfortunately, churches don’t always have the funds necessary to help adopting families in their church. The needs are great and the resources are limited.
Out of this need, Outside the Walls, a ministry of Lifesong’s church fund partners was born. The goal? —Reach more children together than each church is able to do alone.

Over the past 5 years we have seen our church and adoption fund partners grow in their willingness to reach out to give financial assistance to families from Outside the Walls of their church building. Lifesong has been privileged to witness the Church act in incredible ways, and together for the first time, over $1 Million has been given in less than a year to help bring over 300 children into forever families.When we truly understand the blessings that God has given us, it’s easier to reach out and bless others, and it’s been a joy to see one-fourth of our fund partners recognize that they have been blessed to be a blessing.
As one of our OTW fund partners recently told me, “It’s all God’s anyway, we are here to bare witness of what Christ has done for us.”
Since Outside the Walls’ inception in 2011, 95+ churches have faithfully helped families fund their adoptions from outside their church walls. This month, we celebrate the 1,000th family being funded by Outside the Walls. This is the church at work, helping fellow believers within the community and around the country finance adoptions to make fatherless children part of permanent families. Because of Outside the Walls, precious children will grow up in dedicated families who will share the love of Jesus.
Meet the 1000th family!
For Jeffrey and Julie, pursuing adoption in China began as an answer to God’s call to “love your neighbor” and to “care for the fatherless.” Seeing the commands in Scripture, they were compelled to act in some way.
The Outside the Walls grant we received through Chosen and Dearly Loved has enabled us to continue our current adoption process without a delay. As we begin each new step in the process, God provides the funds needed. This grant is an answer to prayer as we work and wait to be united with our daughter. Words cannot express how grateful we are to these organizations who have partnered with our family and others like us to bring our children home! –Jeffrey and Julie
