7 Memory Verses About the Fatherless
The Bible is full of verses that demonstrate God’s love for the fatherless—
and as God’s children, we are invited to care for the fatherless too.
Scripture memory is a great place to start and a fun activity you can do as a family. It helps instill a love for the least of these in our hearts and the hearts of our children. Practice around the table, before you go to bed, and with quizzes throughout the day. If you want to get really creative and you could make a family chart with a column for each family member (Mom and Dad too!). When a verse is committed to memory, give a sticker or mark a check. After you’ve reached your memorization goals, prepare a special surprise or a family outing to celebrate!
Learning and memorizing scripture enable excellent opportunities to share God’s character and truth. Here are a few verses to start you off. Commit one or all of these verses to memory, while sharing with your kids how our Father God loves, protects, and defends the orphaned, the least of the these, the lost, and the lonely.
