Why We Serve in Zambia

Known as the Republic of Zambia, this country is landlocked in Southern Africa. People in Zambia face challenges including high rates of unemployment, lack of access to clean water, lack of adequate sanitation, and an increased risk of teen pregnancy. These circumstances leave vulnerable children who live in poverty in need of protection and care. Without intervention, the cycle of poverty in a child’s life will likely continue.

What We Strive to Provide to Every Child We Serve

Our belief in God and His grace in our lives energizes us for a specific work. With God’s help, every child we serve will be taught the gospel and how to be followers of Christ, not want for food, shelter, medical care, and clothing, receive a quality education to provide a foundation for their future, and have access to continued love and support while transitioning into adult living.

Key Areas of Ministry in Zambia

Discipleship

We are committed to raising the future leaders of Zambia through educational excellence and biblical truth. We seek to reach children through Bible-based curriculum, opportunities for praise and worship, Christ-centered home life for our boarding students, and opportunities for Christian mentorship.

Education

We provide high-quality education for the children we serve and invest in our teaching staff through educational advancement, seminars, and conferences. Together, we have achieved higher test scores than most of other schools in our region.

Safe Homes

The most vulnerable children in our care are given a safe and loving home environment with Christian house parents. There, they receive a safe place to live, study, and learn responsibility from Christian role models.

Vocational Training

We are committed to preparing the children we serve for adulthood. To do so, we offer a vocational school to train students in career fields like mechanics and agriculture.

Sustainable Business

Our commercial strawberry farm, cafe, and lodge serve as a means to teach the children we serve, employ caregivers, and produce profits that help fund the ministry. The lodge provides accommodations for work teams and guests.

Community Outreach

One of the goals we have for the children in our care is to teach them the importance of giving back. From food and clothing distribution to volunteering at clinics, our students learn how to help others in need within their community.

“When I came to Lifesong School, that’s when I learned more and more about Jesus and received Christ as my personal Savior. After graduating from Lifesong School, I decided to work at Lifesong Farms where my mom is working at. I don’t know where my life could have been without Lifesong.”
